Annual Appeal

Tomas Metz is one of Waikato’s most promising and up-and-coming young trumpeters, now set on his career pathway as a musician. His journey included playing with Youth Orchestra Waikato for two years, culminating in an exhilarating concerto performance with the orchestra in December 2021, before heading away for his tertiary study at the New Zealand School of Music. Other successes include being a member of the 2021 NZ Secondary Schools Symphony Orchestras and 2019 professional engagements with Scholars Baroque Aotearoa and Hamilton Civic Choir in their performance of Bach’s B minor Mass.

Tomas was offered the opportunity to further develop his musical skills by playing in the Trust Waikato Symphony Orchestra since 2017 as both 2nd and 1st trumpet. We look forward to him returning to play with us as and when the opportunity arises as part of his continued pathway to success.

"The Waikato orchestras that I have had the privilege of playing in for the last five years have been not only a fantastic opportunity to develop my playing, but also my inspiration to pursue orchestral music as a career. The comradery of playing with like-minded people has been a huge influence on my love for the ensembles and the music that we have played together." – Tomas Metz

Tomas is a perfect example of how your support can enable a young musician to develop to their potential more fully through the orchestral opportunities we provide as part of our orchestral ecosystem.

Every donation will help to support our unshakeable belief in the transformative potential of orchestras

Gift in Wills

Another way is to provide a gift in your Will. If legacy giving is meaningful for you after you have considered your Whānau and loved ones, please do let us know. If you wish, we could then acknowledge your future generosity in our concert programmes.

A gift of any size can make a measurable difference to what we are able to do. You could make a gift of a certain sum, or a specific asset – for example a musical instrument that could be used by a member of the youth orchestra. Or a specific percentage of your estate or a gift after provision has been made for your Whānau and loved ones.

If you would like to support Orchestras Central Trust in this way, please do speak with your lawyer. They would need to know our full name and registered charity number as below.
